“I’d estimate at least half of my frustrations with others are actually frustrations with myself for failing to set clear boundaries and stand by them.”
— James Clear
Always be clear about who I am and what kind of person I want to be. Although frustrated these days, I am very glad that I found my interests in design and decided on web design or software design.
Trying to learn a little more about design every day.
“The fastest way to improve is to learn from others.
Read good books
Talk to people who have done it
Soak up the lessons of the past
Learn from the experiments history has already run and you can start the race halfway finished.”
Yeah, ALWAYS learn from others. People who are experienced know more than us and it’s faster and more practical to learn from them before we create by ourselves.
These days, I have to do things in a more efficient way due to time and energy limited. There were days I have very few hours that I could really work or learn something. So I was forced to care more about opportunity cost, which is indeed not bad.
Before, I always tended to stay away from shortcuts. That is to say, even if I know there was a shortcut, I usually chose another way which took much more time and effort. A sense of guilty would have been there if I had done things in a smarter way and cost little energy and time. However, methods that take more time aren’t necessarily better.
It’s important to learn smarter. Do things in a quicker way. Balance the output and input.
Actress Viola Davis on handling criticism:
“I don’t have any time to stay up all night worrying about what someone who doesn’t love me has to say about me.”
What I am learning these days.
Until next week,
